Whitney, a Lexington native, says “Selling real estate is in my blood.” She comes from a family of realtors and after graduating from the University of Kentucky she took her fathers career advice and joined Prudential A.S. de Movellan Real Estate. Ever since then she has been among the top producers!
Slowing down isn’t an option for Whitney. In fact, she hasn’t slowed down since becoming a [haute] momma in 2001. She took a two week maternity leave and even sold a house at the hospital while in labor. Back when she first began her career and was single, Whitney did two open houses every Sunday, knocked on doors, did phone duty…whatever it took to build her clientele. Now 90 percent of her business comes from referrals!
Last summer Whitney had the pleasure of selling UK Basketball Coach Gillispie his home. She said, “It was a wild summer. My phone rang an average of 50 time a day with calls from people wanting to sell their house to the Coach – Not to mention calls from bankers, personal chefs, interior decorators and…single girls! I now have the inside track on some of the most beautiful homes in Lexington.” Now when Whitney has a client looking for something not on the market, she calls on many of those contacts.
Whitney and her husband, Rick, now have two children – Lucy Boone (6) and Parker (4). The children are involved in competitive swimming, T-ball, soccer and Brownies. These activities make her busy life even busier!

I am a huge multitasker. I try to make all my phone calls before I walk in the door at night.I have to set limits which is very hard because I am on “call ” 7 days a week. I do make my husband and children a priority, if they have a tball game or brownie meeting I make a point of being at all those events. I schedule my work and showings around the kids activities. Most of the time people understand. I am blessed to have really good help with the kids, people I completely trust.
What do you think is the secret to your successful real estate business?
I follow up on any lead promptly, and usually return a phone call if I miss it, within the hour.
