Favorite vacation spot?
I went to Salzburg, Austria with my husband one winter and it was the most romantic place I’ve ever been. Also, we go to Tuscon in January as it’s often the warmest place in the continental US.
Favorite restaurant?
I can’t pick one favorite. There are too many good choices and so many types of cuisine I love. I can, however, tell you about memorable meals I’ve had. One was an elaborate buffet under a tent in a Jungle preserve in India. They kept the food hot in clay pots on a grate over glowing coals. My fondest memory is of a dinner at Galatoire’s Restaurant in New Orleans. It was the first fancy restaurant I went to as a little girl. I was seven years old and I was really proud that Mom and Dad thought I was old enough to go there. I can still remember what I ate: I had pommes soufflé – these fried potato slices that puff up full of air and I had trout meuniere amandine. I went back there as an adult with my husband the year before Katrina. I told the waiter I hadn’t been there in 37 years and he replied, “I’m sure the menu hasn’t changed!”. (If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.) Also, I love the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans – for beignets and Café au Lait. I think New Orleans is most like European city in the United States.
Cocktail of choice?
Right now I am enjoying several Torrontes varietal wines from Argentina. They are in the Sauvignon Blanc family of whites. I am particularly fond of one called Crios by Susana Balboa. I pick it up at Wine + Market on the corner of 2nd and Jefferson Sts.
Favorite gift to give?
Dupree to Go is the perfect gift to give because everyone appreciates having a wonderful meal at home. New mother’s need meals, elderly parents need them, kids in college need them. It’s practical, convenient and delicious. You can order Dupree to Go online and have us deliver it for you. It couldn’t be easier.
Style Icon?
Well, locally, that would be Carl Meyers. he comes by it naturally. My first grown-up dress came from “Meyers”, Carl’s Father’s store. I was about 18. It was the late seventies, the dress was Bordeaux colored wool jersey with a cowel neck and a bodice with long ties that wrapped several times around the waist with a full long skirt. It draped beautifully. When she bought it for me, my mother said that it worth spending the money for it because I wouldn’t be young and beautiful forever. (Boy was she right!)
Favorite designer?
I like Michael Kors, Donna Karan, Ellen Tracy, TSE Cashmere. I like tailored things for work and colorful prints and knits for leisure. But really, I like whatever is on sale.
Favorite Chef? (celebrity and local)
Mario Batali and, of course, all my chefs at Dupree Catering
!
Top of your style / wardrobe wish list?
Someone to launder, iron, and mend everything and to hang up my clothes at the end of the day.
What is in your beauty bag?
Bare Essentials Mineral make-up and THE best age preventive beauty product: Revo brand glare-proof sunglasses. Squinting less=less wrinkles.
Listening to at the moment?
Yo Yo Ma
Favorite cookbook?
Well, I have about 400 so it’s really hard to say. I can say that The Joy of Cooking is the best reference book I have and I use it often. I also get a lot of ideas by looking at Epicurious.com.
Favorite meal to cook?
By far, my favorite meal is Thanksgiving. I love feeding my family. Each year I attempt to make my mother-in-laws Scalloped Oysters just like she did and I have yet to find the right balance of cream and crackers.
What motivates you the most? Who inspires you?
I am motivated to create a beautiful, peaceful home for my family. That is the ultimate goal of all my work. I am inspired by traveling, cookbooks, magazines, all that is creative, eating exotic food, big cities and far away countries, & people who have done more than I have with less than I have…
What do you love most about what you do?
I really love feeding people. It’s not just the cooking that I love; it’s the sense of connection that happens when people sit down together and eat together.

I just found Urban Bratz, a haute new line that is “geared towards hipster parents of infants and toddlers who like to add a little cool to the clothes their kids wear.” They don’t just print fun sayings / mottos on tees, they add some cool graphics to them as well. Great quality Tees and ink, especially for the comfort and safety of your little ones!
You can soon find Urban Bratz in all the hip retail stores all over the world and right here at www.Urban-Bratz.com, where you can also collect limited-edition shirts that are not available in stores or anywhere else on the web.
