LLS Partners with Hooters-Raising Awareness

Hooters Utilizes March Madness to Raise Awareness for Local Charity
From March 1-March 31, Hooters is offering customers an opportunity to purchase a personalized paper balloon icon in exchange for a donation of $1 or more to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The promotion is part of an effort to raise funds and awareness for the charity in honor of Alex Kron, a six-year-old boy who has survived leukemia.
Last year Hooters locations in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Ohio partnered with LLS by selling paper balloons for one month. The promotion raised $25,000 in total and over $4,000 locally.
This year Hooters will continue the four-state partnership, which includes all locations in Lexington and Louisville. The company has set a goal of raising $30,000 and hopes to exceed that amount with the influx of sports fans patronizing the restaurant during March Madness. All funds support services provided by LLS in the community as well as research to cure blood cancers.
