Summer is right around the corner! Time to check the contents of the beach bag! Remember to always be thinking: Hair, face, skin, lips and lashes. Whether you have children or not, we all get sweaty, sticky and potentially burnt! However, we all want to look fresh-faced an pulled-together (or at least you should). Here are few items your bag must contain to help attain the aforementioned….
1. Leave-in hair conditioner. There are a ton of these on the market, yes. I have tried a ton of them. I really like the Aussie brand. It isn’t sticky and is an effective detangler, which some lack. Other great brands; Aveeno, Kerastase, Big Sexy Hair, So Sexy by Victoria’s Secret
2. SPF powder. We all get shiny and need to blot! What an even better way to stay glowing, not greasy, with added spf!? Colorescience is a phenomenal brand offering 30, 35 and 50 spf in many, if not all, of their products! I’m a fan.
3. Self Tanner. Yes you will be in the sun. Yes you will want to get lots of color to look haute in all your haute summer outfits. No you don’t want skin cancer! So….enter Tan Towel! Coat yourself in some serious sunscreen while poolside…then every night apply your tan towel and no one will ever know the difference. Plus when you’re 50 you’ll look 40!…bonus!
4. (not just any)…Hydration mist. There are a ton of hydration mists on the market. However, not all mists are created equal. Some contain antioxidants, some are anti-inflammatory and some are just plain hydration (meaning plain mineral water sprays) – this particular mist is my favorite. La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water is not only refreshing, but offers anti-inflammatory care for the skin after chemical peels, laser resurfacing and microdermabrasion. It contains a high concentration of the element Selenium to provide powerful anti-oxidant protection. It is suitable for all skin types and highly recommended for intolerant skin, Eczema (atopic dermatitis) and Rosacea.
5. MASCARA! Never leave home without it. Don’t coat it on like crazy for the pool / beach, because let’s be honest ALL tend to smear a little. However the best line – and I mean consistently across the board with all of their products – is Maybelline! I have tried tons of mascara and I am staying loyal.
6. LIPGLOSS! Never leave home without it. And…in the summer make sure it contains SPF. There is nothing more unattractive than burnt lips…gross:( I have tried most every brand – here as well – and let’s be honest about this too, nothing last forever. I have some that stay on better than others, but it’s all about the reapplication process. Just do it.
Now I did not mention a few other items like flip-flops (with a thick heel of course), hats and MAGAZINES! Enjoy!
