It is one thing to sell goregous clothing and to be a store desired by people all over the globe….it is another thing to give back to those in need.
Enter Bella Bliss…this year will mark the 5th Annual Bella Bliss Charity Warehouse Sale. This weekend Bella Bliss will offer some amazing sale prices on their fabulous variety of children’s clothing and accessories. The exclusive (to date) charity paired with this event is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter. I caught up with store associate Sarah Havens, store owner Lisa McLean and senior campaign manager of LLS Jen Pitts to hear first-hand their thoughts on this annual event and just how mutually beneficial it truly is!
Sarah Havens, Bella Bliss store associate: I can’t begin to express how proud I am to work for such a generous company [Bella Bliss] that we have been able to donate over $20,000 to the LLS to date! Knowing that our contribution has help fund research that can hopefully one day lead to a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma is awesome. I hope that Bella Bliss can continue to contribute even more to this worthy cause while clearing out our warehouse. All of the work it takes to put on the sale certainly pays off! One exciting change this year…Sayre school has donated their building for us to expand the sale and have additional room!
Lisa McLean, Bella Bliss owner: In addition to the perfect points Srah made, our local support is amazing. As our company expands more and more nationally and internationally, the support from Lexington and surrounding areas is key. Having this sale gives us the opportunity to donate to a cause we are deeply tied to while allowing us to liquidate our seasonal collections. We are so fortunate to be in this position and so grateful to our customers for their support! The generosity of Sayre further demonstrates is just icing on the cake.

Jen Pitts, LLS senior campaign manager: We are excited and grateful to continue this partnership with Bella Bliss for a fifth year. The store’s support of The LLS through the clothing sale has enabled our organization to increase community awareness about blood cancers while raising funds in support of a cure. In turn, we bring to the table a group of people who are committed to our cause and want to patron like-minded businesses. Being able to shop for quality children’s clothes and gifts with a portion of the proceeds benefitting a charity is a win-win situation, so for us it’s mostly getting the word out to everyone about this opportunity. Once people hear about it, they typically don’t want to miss out!
The owners and staff of Bella Bliss have been fantastic to work with on this event, and we’re continuously amazed at the crowds of people who come out to participate in the sale. Ultimately, whether people come to take advantage of the great prices or to support our mission, every cent raised makes a difference to us in being able to provide local services for blood cancer patients and to continue our research programs. To date, Bella Bliss has donated nearly $22,000 from the sale to the local chapter of LLS.
