There is no big secret to losing weight. It is all about two things: Calories and Activity. Oh wait…and a little thing called WILL POWER! No one has the perfect body. However you can per-fect your own body to a level of ‘fit’ that makes you feel good and healthy! Now I would be lying if I said I diet healthy all the time. No I don’t. I have been known to skip a few (hundred) meals and count every single calorie that I consume…but I have also learned what works and what doesn’t…FOR ME. Having children really helps you figure out exactly what works. Packing on the pounds during pregnancy – willingly or unwillingly – isn’t easy to shed. I have two boys and getting my pre-pregnancy body back was never easy, but I did do it and fairly quickly.
There are so many ‘guides’ out there on how to eat right, how to diet, how not-to-diet, how to count calories the right way, how to exercise, how to spot tone etc…etc….etc…. Here’s the deal – Spring Break roughly 60 days (give or take a few) away and it’s time to get serious. I do suggest counting calories and do something active everyday. And if you are going to be at a luncheon or dinner or event – just say no to the rolls, the butter, the cakes, the mini cupcakes etc…if you have ZERO will power…then the next day (or two) make up for it and be conscious of what you are consuming….and again get active!
Oh and this whole ‘treat yourself after a crazy hard workout’ – NO…DUH! Make smart food choices!

A guide to getting the look you want from your Botox injector….by Jennifer Cooper
Communication is key.
A good injector acknowledges your desired areas to be treated, educates you on how the aging process has affected those areas, communicates with you about the product that would benefit that area, and helps honestly predict the outcome of the treatment (based on experience, research, and past results).
Choose your injector wisely.
A properly trained injector with experience, who listens to their patient, is more likely to deliver the desired result.
Know your neurotoxins.
Eliminating unwanted wrinkles on the face with a neurotoxin, whether it be Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin is remarkably safe and predictable. Do your research. A good injector will educate you on the products and recommend the one that is right for you.
Cost of treatment must be discussed prior to injection.
Everyone is on a budget. A good injector works within your budget addressing your primary area of concern first.
Do not get distracted.
If your budget allows for one area to be treated, treat that area only. Do not spread the medicine out over several areas, you will not see any results and waste your time and money
Identify your primary areas of concern.
Areas that can be safely treated with a neurotoxin include the forehead, in between the eye brows, around the eyes, on the nose, around the mouth, and chin.
Rank areas of concern in order of importance.
Ranking your areas of importance ensures that you receive the treatment you desire.
Assess your wrinkles.
There are two types of wrinkles, dynamic and stationary. Dynamic wrinkles form when you are moving your face. Stationary wrinkles are visible when you are not moving your face. Both types of wrinkles can be safely treated with a neurotoxin.
Know your dose.
All neurotoxins are measured in units. Do not purchase a neurotoxin by the area or by the syringe, you do not know how much you are actually receiving. You cannot compare apples to apples if you do not know the cost of the apple.
Less is best.
BE CONSERVATIVE. Start off slow using the lowest dose. You can always add more product. If you proceed conservatively you will know exactly how much product it actually takes to achieve the look you desire. Be aware of the injector that never says no.
Embrace it, a neurotoxin is not a luxury, it is maintenance.
Once your wrinkles are under control you can maintain that look by receiving treatment approximately every three months. Nothing you can apply topically will ever achieve the results of a neurotoxin period. (but don’t stop your normal anti-aging topical routine!)
In conclusion…’You should feel confident that you are going to look and feel your best after your treatment. If you seek treatment for the wrinkles plaguing your eyes and the injector cruelly points out the notebook paper lines dominating your forehead you should seek another injector. A good injector will educate you on the areas of your face that can safely be treated with product, kindly and gently, building your confidence and self esteem.’

HMS firmly believes in heading to the dermatologist and spa any chance you can get to receive a much needed microderm, peel, etc…however I have recently come across the Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover. It is sold exclusively at CVS Pharmacy, therefore the price point is obviously not quite that of other effective skin care lines.
